Brooke's laugh!

We finally caught Brooke's giggle on camera. The first time I heard it was May 3rd right before Nina and Poppi were about to leave! I just love her laugh and not just because she's my daughter!!! I cannot wait until she starts doing it all the time!

Sunday Activites

Aunt Angela brought Gavin's swing over to keep at my parent's house for Brooke. She sat in it about 3 mins or so....

As you can see, we are hanging out next to the pool at my parents house. I put Brooke's feet in the water and she didn't seem to mind it at all. My sister then took her into the pool dressed just putting her legs in. Again, she didn't seem to mind, so I decided to put her bathing suit on (after I covered her with sunscreen!) Jeff wanted to get in the pool only if Brooke was so he changed into his bathing suit too! I was standing on the deck holding Brooke when my brother decided to jump into the pool. Well, when he jumped in, it splashed her on her back and she started screaming!!! It took me a while to calm her down and everytime she touched water after that she started crying! WAY TO GO UNCLE STEVEN!!!

Aaron's Graduation!

Here is the fondant cake I slaved over for Aaron's graduation party. After the huge mess in my kitchen, it finally looked presentable!!! Keep in mind, this was my first attempt at making a fondant cake and had not yet started my fondant class. (The fondant was homemade!)

This was a shocker!!! My brother (Uncle Steven) swore he would not hold her until she started walking, but here he is holding her for the first time. I guess since she's the size of a walking baby, he decided to hold her. That is my Aunt Kelly's thumb in the corner. She took the picture for me with her camera phone while we were beside the pool.

*****UPDATE # 2 *****

She slept in her crib from 11:30 pm until 5:30am last night. I picked her up and put her with me on the couch and she is still asleep as I write this at 8:50am. Must be nice!!!

8:53am - she woke up as soon as I wrote that she was still asleep...lol. She is always the happiest thing when she wakes up! I love this onesie from Ronda!!

I think it was a fluke! She only made it 3 hours last night, but I must say it's more than the average was!!

Guess what Brooke did!!!

As most of you know, Brooke has been sleeping on me since we got home from the hospital. Bad, yes I know, but I couldn't bare to put her in her room being so little and she would not sleep in her pack-n-play. I have been trying to get her to sleep in her crib for several weeks but she would sleep only about 2 hours maximum! I laid her in her crib last night about 11:30pm and went to bed myself. I woke up about 3am and realized she hadn't made a sound so I rushed in to check on her. In the dark, half asleep with no contacts, I didn't see her chest/abdomen moving at first. I put my hand on her and her hand moved. Whewwwwww!!! I got back in bed thinking surely she would wake up soon. I woke up again at 4am because my back was killing me and checked on her again since she was still silent and she was still sound asleep. I laid down on the couch and finally after another hour a familiar sound came over the monitor. I picked her up, squinted at the clock with my blind eyes and made out 5:17am. I am proud that she finally slept that long in her crib!!! (Even though I feel naked without "mini me" laying on me.) We curled up together on the couch and went back to sleep together. Was it just a fluke or will she do it again? Stay tuned!!
