Allison's Bridal Shower

Today was Allison's Bridal shower thrown by Cheryl, myself and Aunt Kelly (the soon-to-be mother-in-law). The shower was a hit (I think!). I had a great time, especially with the games and I enjoyed all the company. The food was delicious thanks to Aunt Kelly!!! Allison is marrying my cousin Jason on August 22 and I can't wait. I tried to get her to move the wedding up to today but it just didn't work out. Anyways, here are some pictures of the festivities. Thanks to everyone who helped me out with Brooke during the shower (thanks for changing the poop diaper Mom) and to all those special ladies who cleaned up for me while I skyped with Jeff and fed Brooke dinner.

A little of a SCARE!!!

This story was harder to tell Jeff than my really being pregnant, so he's going to read this on the blog. I have been on birth control since Brooke's birth. I was supposed to restart June's birth control 2 days before Jeff was deploying, but I figured I was safe not restarting until he returns. Well, a few days ago I spotted (all of us women know what that is) way off schedule. I remember reading when I was pregnant about spotting at the time of implantation, so I got a little worried. I had a test left over from last year so I took it yesterday morning. I knew I hadn't felt sick or had sore boobs like last time, so I figured I was ok. Well, I peed on the stick and waited a few minutes until I got the results. Remember, 1 line (not) and 2 lines (are). As soon as I read the results I did feel nauseous. TWO LINES. OH CRAP!!! What am I going to do, how will I tell Jeff??? Would I wait to tell everyone like last time until Jeff gets home. I'm not ready to be pregnant again!!! Then I thought, that was an old test and I have read you can get a false positive if the test is expired. I had a few errands to run, so I decided to stop and get a new pregnancy test. As soon as I got home (Brooke still in her car seat), I ran to pee on the little white stick that can change your life forever. I never knew 3 minutes could take FOREVER!!! Finally, the little digital hour glass stopped thinking and decided what it was going to tell me...NOT pregnant. Now which test do I believe??? I went to the other bathroom where I took the test and got the wrapper out of the trash to check the expiration date. The expiration date was 11/09, so it's still a good test. THEN I noticed very small print under the words First Response...Ovulation Test!! I had a positive OVULATION test which means I'm ovulating and NOT pregnant. Thank Goodness!!! Don't get me wrong, I loved being pregnant, but I just became a first time mom and I love spending time with my daughter and I'm not ready to have another baby interupt my time with her. Her little smiling face just lights me up at 6am every morning and I want to keep it that way for a little while.

Happy 4th of July!!

My day started off on a bad note this morning. I got out of the shower and noticed one of my diamond earrings Jeff bought me when we were dating was GONE!! I was panicking!! I love my earrings and wear them everyday. I tore the couch and bed apart and was searching the floor. I called Nancy so distraught!! I shook a jacket I had on this morning and the back fell out. Luckily, I found the earring in the shower on the floor. OMG, how close it was to going down the drain!! After the pit in my stomach was gone, we got dressed and headed to my parents for the day. We had a great time!! We grilled out and went swimming!! We sure missed Jeff being there for Brooke's first 4th of July. We didn't go see any fireworks because we want to see the big shows with Daddy next year!

LOL....My Grandma...the story starts off yesterday when I was at my parent's house swimming with my sister. She said these glasses were broken and threw them on the deck. Well, the lense popped out and had only one left in them. Today, when Grandma put them on she noticed only one lense. She said "Oh well, that's my bad eye and it's senstive to light so these will work!". She wore them the entire time she was outside! She looked so funny...Love you Grandma!

We got home around 8:30 pm. I put Brooke in the bath to get all the pool water and sunscreen off of her and she was out!! Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!!!

Brooke and HER pillow! This is the pillow she took over shortly after birth. Most kids have a blanket, she has a pillow. She likes to play with it as well as sleep on it.

This is Brooke's first taste of applejuice. Keep in mind, she just started drinking from a sippy cup a few days ago and hasn't mastered it yet. (7/1/09)

This video was taken yesterday (7/2/09). I was working on things for the upcoming Bridal Shower for my soon-to-be cousin-in-law ;) , so I put Brooke in her jumper which usually keeps her occupied. We had went shopping earlier for the Bridal Shower and I purposely put bags around her to play with. She does get a little grouchy in the beginning because she's getting hungry. You can tell a difference between when she was fed and when she wasn't. She's so much happier after. She was after the Bath and Body Works bag most of the time. She is so much fun to watch. I wish I knew what was going on in her mind! ( I just realized that the video transitions didn't work between shot, sorry)

This was taken this morning (7/3/09). Brooke discovered she could make a new sound and continued to do it all through her lunch.
