Visiting Papa Jack

Brooke visiting her Great-Grandpa Jack

Brooke with Grandma and her dad.

Mom bought some flowers to put on his grave on Saturday. I told her to wait to put them on until Brooke and I met up with her since Brooke had never been there. It was definitely a little emotional. Our Papa died at the age of 54 from a heart attack. He never got to meet his great-grandkids. I was 12 days shy of age 12 when he died. We sure miss him!!! Love You Papa!!!

Some late pics!

Gavin is actually coming around his cousin Brooke more now.

A Grandma in training!!

She's doing a great job!!

Bunny Ears!!!

I had a hair appointment on Tuesday that I had to take Brooke too. Jeff was home, but he's been studying every minute he gets for his upgrade class, so he couldn't watch her. It had been nice and warm here lately, but it decided to get back into the freezing temperatures again, so I knew I had to dress her warmly. All the hats I have for Brooke don't fit her big ;) head anymore. I was looking through all the hats and came across the one in the pictures below. She was laying on her changing table when I put this on her head. I just busted out laughing, it was so funny but she was just toooooo cute with it on!!!! I called for Jeff to come downstairs and look at his daughter. He started talking to Brooke and said "What did mommy do to you?" and "what is she making you wear?" I quickly replied "I didn't do anything to her, it was YOUR SISTER that bought the hat!" We both were taking pictures, me with my camera and him with his camcorder. She looks so cute!!! I love that hat AUNT KELLY!!!! Everyone at the salon was saying how cute it was too!!! It was perfect timing for Easter as well!!!

Isn't it the cutest hat????

She liked her hat!!!!

Babyland General Hospital

Grandma loving on Brooke when we arrived at Babyland.

Here is Shelby in front of the sign when we arrived. She still had no idea what the surprise was.

Here is the video of Shelby when we entered Babyland General Hospital.

This is Gavin's excitement of the NICU.

Shelby is so excited at all the dolls. (The school bus Gavin wanted to get into)

Me and Brooke headed for the Magical Tree.

Which one is NOT the Cabbage Patch Doll???

Brooke with her cousin Shelby...Aren't they too cute together???

Here is where they put some of the newborn babies.

Here is a picture of one of the newborns that my mom and sister thought looked like Brooke.

Here is a side-by-side comparison..What do you think??

Here is a video of a Cabbage Patch Birth.

More pics....

Gavin and Shelby.....their little faces are priceless!!!

Can you guess which one I adopted???

Brooke hanging out in the crib with all the dolls.

This is the one my mom wanted to adopt...I think it was because of her name??? I almost adopted her because she was so cute and had brown eyes like Brooke but I decided to wait until she's a little older so she could pick out her own.

Grandma with almost all her grandkids (Kalyn's missing!!!)

Brooke with Mommy on her first carriage ride....(did you notice the dog behind my head?)

I have always wanted to visit the Babyland General Hospital but never got around to it. Finally after all these years, my sister and I decided to take Shelby as a surprise this past Sunday. It was a short 3 hour drive, the kids were really good on the way up which made the trip seem so short. As we got closer to Cleveland, Ga where the hospital is, we started seeing huge billboard signs for the hospital with a huge picture of a Cabbage Patch doll on it. Angela and I would smirk at each other because luckily Shelby didn't notice any of them. We arrived at the hospital but all the signs say Babyland General Hospital so she had no idea where we were until we walked into the building. Even Gavin was excited when he saw all the dolls. He started beating on the glass where the dolls were in the office. They had the front 2 rooms set up like a hospital with babies in cribs and preemies in incubators. Then you walk down the hall and to the left through the window you get to look into the nursery where they take car of the newborns. They have a room that it set up like a school that was pretty neat. It had a big school bus against the wall with dolls inside so of course Gavin was trying to climb the wall to get to it. Then you walk into another room where the magical tree is. This is where the babies are born. There are dolls everywhere in this room. It was a pretty neat experience. I will definitely be taking Brooke back when she is older. After we left Cleveland, we noticed we were only about 10 miles from Helen, Ga and since neither my mom nor my sister have been there, we decided to spend a couple hours sightseeing there. We had a great time walking around a doing a little shopping. We ended the Helen trip with a carriage ride through town then headed home!

Here is Jackson trying to eat his plastic egg.

This is Gavin in the big bounce....I couldn't stop laughing. He was so excited he would bounce and go flying and get up and do it again!!

The Air Force base here had some Easter festivies for the kids on Saturday. We had a large crowd with us to join in on the fun. My sister's family - Kalyn + Kinley, our family, my mother + 2 cousins and my cousins friend. They had free lunch (hot dogs, chips and a kool-aid type drink), snow cones, big slides, bouncers, carnival games, face painting and more. One thing they did was put on a Easter Egg hunt for the kids. They seperated the kids by age. Shelby and Kinley were on the 3-5 year old side while Jackson (my 1 year old cousin who looks like he's 3) and Gavin (my nephew) hunted Easter Eggs at the 0-2 year old section. Anything older than 5 had its own section in a big field. When the fire trucks blew their horns the hunt was on. I took Gavin to his section and my cousin had her little brother with us. We were in the back of the crowd looking for eggs and I guess all the parents dragging their little ones in front of us did a clean sweep of all the eggs!!! That really bothered me. There were little kids that had the most disappointed looks on their faces because they couldn't find any (my cousin and nephew included!) These parents had 6-8 eggs in their baskets while some kids had none!!! I was very upset!!! Poor Gavin just kept on looking, he didn't want to give up. I finally sent my cousin over to where the girls were to borrow a few of their eggs to hide for the little boys who didn't get anything. Gavin was so cute when he finally find his first egg!!!! My little cousin Jackson wanted and tried to eat his...too funny!! It turned out to be a nice warm day and a great little event for the kids!!

Brooke obviously wasn't thrilled I was taking her picture.

You know your a mommy when.....I have always had a routine when I shower. Wash my hair first, then shave, wash and last I wash my face. Since I've had Brooke, I've had to put her in her Bobby chair while I jump in the shower. Well, yesterday I put her in her chair, jumped in the  shower, washed my hair and started shaving my legs (I must do this to feel womanly still!). A few seconds later, my eyes started burning like they were on fire!!! I thought to myself, I think I washed my hair already but did I rinse it??? I put my hand on top of my head and much to my surprise......IT'S STILL SOAPY and running down my face!!! I may have gotten out of the shower with shampoo still in my hair if it hadn't gotten into my eyes. Maybe I should switch to baby shampoo so I have "No more tears."
