My first basket weave cake.
After 4 weeks of Wilton Course 2 cake decorating, I am done and ready for my next courses!! I have decided to continue my classes at Michael's even though it's about $10 more. The teacher at Hobby Lobby was very hard to understand and my new teacher is a very good teacher. She is offering Courses 3 & 4 starting Monday. I am hoping to take them both this month before Jeff deploys. Course 3 is Fondant & tiered cakes and Course 4 is Fondant & gum paste. I am looking forward to Fondant & Gum Paste!!!

Wow, that looks like one YUMMY cake! I love anything oozing with buttercream! Great job too...I've heard the basket weave and flowers are some of the hardest things. And did you make those birds? Wow! You might have to give me some tips in NC. I need to take a course once Ash isn't attached to certain parts of me! :) Miss ya!
p.s...Jeff should definitely stick to singing wiggles songs and flying...and let you make the beautiful cakes :)

Candy, dont know how I missed this blog, but I just wanted to say, I LOVE your flowers and birds and basketweave!!! Its BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!! Wish I could have tasted it!! bet it was so yummy!! And Jeffs flowers were hilarious...good thing its not his profession! Cant wait to see the masterpieces you will be making once you are done with all these courses!! I am IMPRESSED! :) Nina
