Brooke had her 6 month check-up when we returned from Maggie Valley. Our Brooke is a whopping 19.8 lbs (94% for weight). No wonder my back has been killing me!!! The nurse had measured Brooke's length but when the Doctor came in the room she knew she was longer than what was written down. She is a very tall 28.8 inches (99% for height). She was a very happy little girl during this appt. She was smiling at the Doctor (I'm sure that will change in the coming years!!). She said it's time for Brooke to start learning to self feed so she suggested we start with the gerber puffs. She told me she does not recommend the biter biscuits because large chunks tend to break off! Also, we are allowed to start trying soft table food! Brooke has been trying to get my table food for a while now. After seeing the Doctor, we had to go down to immunizations..ugh!!! This is where I always need Jeff!!! I'm the big whimp when it comes to my baby getting shots!! I handled the 3 months shots ok, but when the murse (male nurse) told me to hold her arm, I knew I would be a gonner. She started crying immediately after the first shot and it just broke my heart. My eyes were watering!! I don't think the murse noticed though! Luckily, the 3 shots were given pretty fast and when the shots stopped, Brooke quit crying and was back to being my happy little girl. Next checkup = 9 months!
Here is Brooke playing with her toy.
Here is a video of Brooke trying her new puffs (Apple-Strawberry) and also still practicing with her sippy cup! (she's gotten much better!)

awww, I miss my sweet niece. Way to go Candy on making it through the doc's appt w/o daddy Jeff along. I know it's tough on you with those shots...but there should be no more til 1 year :) No surprise that Brooke is almost 20 lbs. I think she might outweigh Ash one of these days :) Time to start looking for a new car seat! Also...love the new Mini Shoez...so cute! And is it bad that we don't let Ash eat table food anymore?? We stopped doing it due to food allergy fears. They really recommend eating real food at 6 mos?? I'm gonna have to do some reading on this. Miss you girls, but think of you often esp. when Ash chews on her purple grapes (which is every day!) :) Love ya!
p.s. I just ran across Ashley's 6 month stats (in a clutter pile :)) and Brooke is bigger than she was! I think Ash was 19lbs, 10oz and only like 27.5 inches. Brooke might pass Ash up! Maybe the next time we see you it'll be Brooke bullying Ash :)
