What a terrible day it was for Brooke!!! I woke up that morning dreading her appointment!!!!! We headed over to the hospital where Jeff met up with us. The visit with the doctor wasn't too bad. Our other pediatrician left the military so we got a chance to meet our new Doctor. Let's just say that I wasn't very impressed with him!!!!! Oh well, what can you do? The nurse measured Brooke and she is still in the 99%tile for her height at 32 inches but has dropped to the 76%tile for weight at 22lbs 5+ oz. The nurse told us 23 lbs originally but wrote 22lbs 5+ oz on our sheet?!? After the long wait/visit with the new Doctor it's time to head over to immunizations. Brooke had 5 shots in her thighs, given one at a time. She started screaming with shot 1 and I don't think she took a breath until he was finished. My poor baby!! I almost started crying when she did!! After that torture was over it was time to have her blood drawn. I knew I definitely couldn't hold her for this. I'm so glad Jeff was there for this part!! Boy was she screaming!!!! I walked over to the drink machine so I didn't have to watch her beautiful little face in pain. When it was over, we sat her down in the waiting room and she drank some water which I think calmed her down for a few minutes. I headed over to get my H1N1 and after another 10 minutes we were out the door where she finally quit crying and passed out! My poor baby!!!!

What 5 immunizations did she get? Couldn't any of them be combined? Can you not find a different pedi office or do you have to use that one because of your military benefits? Poor Brooke! We go for our 4 month check up on Friday. We will have immunizations also.
