The First Day of Spring

Our first outing for the day was Kalyn's 9th birthday party. I was happily assigned the task of making Kalyn's birthday cake. She loves Jessie from Toy Story, so my sister and I found a cake that was perfect. All I had to do now was make it!! I finished the cake Friday night and then we headed to the party with the cake in tow!

Gavin ready and waiting to go outside and make bubbles with the goodies Grandma brought over.

Kalyn's birthday cake. I think it turned out quite well!!

Brooke hanging out on our new outside blanket enjoying all the festivities.

Mom and I left shortly after this picture was taken headed to Kohl's for a little shopping. Poor Brooke was so exhausted after being up for 6+ hours with no nap. She fell asleep before we ever got out of the neighborhood! Jeff was due to arrive from Germany at 4:30ish from what he told me the last time we talked, so I wanted to leave Kohl's in time to watch the plane come in. After a little shopping we headed to the base. After waiting for over an hour (plane was late) they finally arrived! I know my Mom was having a grand old time sitting in the car with Brooke and I watching an empty flight line (thanks for tagging along Mom!) After was seemed like forever, Jeff got off the plane and was done with customs! Brooke and I met Jeff at the gate leading from the flight line. Brooke was excited to see her Daddy after being gone 5 days!

After giving Daddy a 5 minute break and a shower, we headed to Macon for the annual Balloon glow. We met up with my sister, Kalyn, Gavin and 2 of Kalyn's friends. Gavin really enjoyed the balloons. He thought they were "cool" as he repeated every time they lit up!!! Brooke passed out on the way home! She had a very long and exciting day! Welcome home Daddy!!

Cute cake! I might have to copy that one if Dylan ever gets an interest in Toy Story. Looks like a fun one to make...gotta love fondant! :) And, wow, is Brooke looking so much older...maybe it's the big girl sandals?! Can't wait to see her in July! Love you guys...and glad daddy Jeff is home! :)
