Brooke and I did alot of running around yesterday. It was our second official day outside the house together alone. I met my sister at Mellow Mushroom for lunch (I had invited Jeff out to lunch, but he was eating a sub from Publix (yuck). Our pizza took 40 minutes to cook and Brooke had a Dr's Appt at 1pm. I ended up having to call and let them know I would be about 15 mins late. I ate about 4 bites of pizza and had to leave. My sister actually ended up taking the whole pizza home with her. The doctor's visit went well. I had to strip her naked when we got into the room. I hated to do that since it was so cold out, but she handled it very well. Our little girl is growing up...she now weighs 8lbs 13 oz and is 21 inches long. She was just 7 lbs 2 oz two weeks ago!!! He said Daddy has been doing a good job with the neck exercises and to keep it up until her 2 month follow-up. Her next appt. she will get shots...oh no!!! Daddy will have to come to this appt. We then went to the courthouse to get a copy of her birth certificate. Then Brooke and I ended up on the base at the BX so mommy could get some more shirts. What did I wear before maternity clothes??? Anyways, I had just changed Brooke's diaper 5 mins before we went into the BX. I had also just fed her so when she got cranky I knew something was up. There is no restroom inside the BX and I had stuff on the stroller I was going to buy so I didn't want to leave. I took her into a dressing room and laid the changing pad on the floor, opened her diaper and found a nice "surprise". I guess when I laid her down on the pad, the "Surprise" squished out of her diaper and up her back into her onesie. I took her diaper off and moved her onto a poop free spot on the pad, yes it got on there too, and then she peed on the pad....lol.......I had to get her onsie off without getting poop all in her hair. I managed to do it and was proud of myself. I used every diaper wipe I had. Luckily I packed a spare outfit to change her into (I learned from my dear sister-in-law). I'm just glad everything stayed in her diaper and didn't leak out. Needless to say, we checked out and came straight home for a much needed bath. After her bath, I had to pre-soak her "surprise" outfit in the washer, so Daddy had her. They both passed out on the couch together. I had to sneak some pictures of the two of them. Aren't they so cute!!!!

Good job on the blow-out diaper change...and esp. not getting poop in her hair...that's a huge accomplishment...you should be proud :) I'm glad my baby poop mishaps (with no extra clothes in hand) allowed you to be well prepared for Brooke's "surprise" :) Give hugs to my niece for me...she's looking different already and filling out well. She's a sweetie-pie! Chubby Cousin Ash can't wait to hang with her in NC...I can already picture them in the baby pool soaking up some sun! :) Miss you guys!
Ahhhh, love the pics!! Brooke is getting so BIG!!!!! I cant wait to see her and hold her again!! Proud of you for your diaper changing technique!!
