While we were in Ft. Lauderdale, we decided to take Brooke to the Pompano Beach Pier where Jeff and I were engaged on Dec 31st, 2006. It was in the 70's, but very, very windy!!! When we first got there, a young boy had caught a fish and was trying to intice this pelican to come off the roof and eat. The pelican wasn't coming down so the boy threw the fish onto the roof where the pelican tried to eat the whole thing in one piece. It was pretty interesting to watch. Of course the fish was way to big for the pelican to eat, so he eventually spit it out. Anyways, we had a great time at the pier and enjoyed Nina sharing Brooke's first time at the ocean. We can't wait for her to actually get on the beach and stick her feet in the ocean. It was too cold to even try to touch the water today so we will try again next time when she's a little older.
