Shelby & her Mother's Day Gift

I had seen that Michael's was having a Mother's Day Event where the kids could make their mom a Mother's Day shirt. I knew that Nina would be visiting and wouldn't mind watching Brooke for a couple hours while I took Shelby to Michael's. The first thing we had to do when we got to Michael's was pick out a shirt for Mommy. Shelby immediately picked out a HUGE very bright yellow T-shirt. She picked it up and of course I tried to get her to get a smaller shirt and check out all the colors they had, but Shelby said "yellow is mommy's favorite color" and she wanted THAT shirt! She and 2 other girls sat at the craft table ready to paint. Shelby was so excited!! The shirt turned out very well. She wanted to write the words herself, so they are a little spread out and she made the # 1 upside down but I was so proud of her and she was very proud of herself. We then went for a Chocolate dipped cone at Dairy Queen (Shelby's pick) and then headed back to her house. On the way home, Shelby made some very funny comments. She told me "God made everything but pinecones because they hurt." The other comment started out "Why did God make boogers?" I replied they were there to catch germs and things that might go in the nose and when you blow your nose they come out. (I had a second to act, that was the best I could do!!) Shelby then said "God should have made zippers on the nose so we could zip them up and they wouldn't run." She just cracked me up!!!! When we got to her house, we hid the shirt (which still had wet paint on it) in the corner of the garage so it could dry and hope mommy wouldn't see it. Shelby wasn't quite sure which day was Mother's day (it was a whole week away). She said she would just ask her mommy everyday and give it to her when she told her it was Mother's Day. (LOL) I called Angela on Mother's Day to see if she had recieved her gift. She had recieved it and was wearing it. She told me it was ENORMOUS!!!! LOL.....

We had time to kill to try and let the shirt dry, so we played around in the store...

The cutest mouse I've ever seen!

Shelby is lucky to have such a wonderful Aunt Candy! I love the shirt. I still have Mother's Day presents from the kids hanging on the wall in my bathroom. I still treasure them too.
