Snow, snow and more snow

Here are the pictures from our recent trip to Boone, NC with my Sister's family, my Parents and Shaan's Mom. We knew there would be a winter storm while we were there but we didn't expect this much snow! We had an awesome time!!!

Shopping for snow gear. Brooke looks excited about her first trip to the mountains!

Our arrival into Boone. We had hoped to beat the snow, but we didn't make it. It was definitely a scary trip for me up the mountain to our rental house. We were slipping and sliding, but we all made it safe and sound!!

Our first morning in the rental house. Brooke was enjoying her first powdered donut.

Our car on Saturday morning with more snow to come.

My dad gave Jeff a hard time the night before about his plaid pajama pants and then he shows up for breakfast wearing some. The nerve of some people! lol

We couldn't wait to get outside and enjoy the snow!! I think the high was only 21 Saturday, but with all our snow gear, we couldn't tell! We had a blast!!!

Shaan scraping snow of his car.

More pictures of Dad in his plaid pants! Brooke is almost ready to go outside and play in snow for the first time.

Jeff looks ready to go!

Cousin's Shelby and Brooke ready to go play in the snow!

Brooke trying to make her first snow angel. It didn't go so well. She didn't seem to like all the snow falling in her face! ;)

Our 5000 sq. ft. rental house for the weekend.

The girls climbing the side of the driveway.

Shelby, Shaan and Jeff playing in the snow where our driveway should be.

My dad making trying to make snow balls with Jeff and Shaan's names on them.

Jeff taking video while standing on the road going down the mountain. The guys were the only ones to brave the drive down on Saturday. They had to dig the van out and shovel the driveway. We watched as long as we could to see them drive down the mountain. Luckily they took the shovel with them which came in handy on their many stops going down.

Jeff and I taking pictures of each other.

My sister taking pictures of my Mom and Gavin while dad continues to play in the snow.

Grandma showing Gavin how to slide down the slope on the side of the driveway.

See the snowman made by the girls?? The snow was very powdery and wouldn't pack to make a round snowman. He had a cheetapuff nose and mini fudge stripe cookie eyes and smile. He was a cutie!!

Shelby posing with her snowman.

Gavin playing in the snow.

The girls having a blast in the snow!

Kalyn and Shelby at the top of the driveway slope.

Jeff outside in his plaid pajama pants.

I tried to take a picture of how deep the snow was, but it didn't quite work out. There was at least a foot of snow there!!

Mom lost her feet in the snow!

Kalyn and Shelby making snow angels in the backyard.

Grandma (my mom) playing in the snow.

The guys went down the mountain Saturday night without chains and came back with these on. They must have known they weren't going to make it back up without them!

Dad doing all the hard work while the guys take pictures of him. Typical!! ;)

I took these pictures heading down the mountain on Sunday.

Wasn't it beautiful!!!

Brooke and Daddy at the resort at Sugar Mountain, NC.

Grandpa and Grandma hanging out while we all tubed.

Brooke passed out watching us tube. I guess it was just too much excitement for her.

Kalyn about to go tubing!

And she's off!!

Angela with Gavin in tow.

Gavin and Mommy coming off the "magic carpet" for more tubing.

The babysitting at the resort was pretty darn cheap! ;)

Angela and Gavin about to head down in their tube. Gavin LOVED tubing!!!

Brenda (Shaan's mom) waiting her turn to tube.

Me coming off the slow moving "magic carpet" after finished my last ride down. Boy was that exhausting!!!

Me and my handsome husband!

Brooke still passed out in the snack bar. It's not too often she sleeps when the aroma of food is nearby!

Brooke decided she liked the snow as we were about to head home.

She has snow balled up in her hand. How she did it I have know idea. It hurt my hand to do that!

Brooke going for a second hand full of snow.

She loved to eat it!!! I should have jarred some up for the ride home!
